Dietary supplements are a huge industry. It generates billions of dollars in sales every year through deceptive advertisements. Since dietary supplements are not considered drugs, they aren’t strictly regulated by the government. One wonders if commercialism and advertisements have such bad effects on us, why aren’t there strict laws, rules and regulation about them?

Demagogy can be defined as a political activity by some that seek the support of the ordinary masses by appealing to their ethnic, religious and economic prejudices with false claims and promises, rather than rational arguments, in order to get elected to the position of power.

WHY DO WE EAT TOO MUCH?

The amount of food we consume isn’t always under our willful control. It is in our nature to eat more than we need and as a result, many of us get fat. I believe this is one of the main reasons why the obesity epidemic is engulfing the entire world.

It is very important for everybody to have empathy. Even though the empathy capacity is inborn, empathy could be learned. Learning starts in the family and in early childhood. Empathic parents are role models and teachers for their children.

There is a Turkish saying that the ground has ears; everybody hears what you are saying behind their back. We should always remember that to be kind is more important than to be right. We should never criticize anyone for the things that they can’t do anything about.
