MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN (MAGA), BUT HOW?

Only accomplishments in science makes a country great. Yet President Trump’s administration does not believe in science. They are denying scientific facts and calling it as “hoax.” They are attacking scientific institutions. They are cutting funding for basic science research without realizing that applied science is only generated by basic science. They are financially choaking our world-renowned greatest universities using poor excuses.

Why are they doing this if they want to MAGA?

Thinking on this question invokes some disturbing, negative thoughts.

When we look at history to see what happens when a great nation or empire denies or attacks science, we see that the great Roman Empire started to disintegrate in 212 BCE, when they killed the greatest living mathematician, physicist and engineer of the time, the great Archimedes.

So, it appears to me that the gerontocratic Trump administration, with its enablers, will take our country not towards MAGA, but towards MASA (Make America Small Again) by neglecting to remember that believing in science, supporting scientific research, and accomplishing rare scientific achievements, can create a bold and new modern economy, world leadership and greatness.
